The Myth of Balance

Much has been said about the need for balance in our lives, which is a lie. If you try to balance all aspects of your life, you will excel at nothing and achieve mediocrity at best. This myth has been presented to us as wisdom for centuries. It is expounded as truth by hive thinking elitists in order to keep themselves in power and people in general from becoming extraordinary.

You Need to Put in More Effort and Sacrifice to Succeed

In order to excel at anything, you must put more effort into that endeavor at the expense of other things. For example, if you intend to be a world-class martial artist, then a majority of your day must be set aside for that purpose.

If you want to be a competent, revered doctor, the same also applies. The majority of your activities must be apportioned to the practice of your individual desires in order to become extraordinary. Balancing all activities in your life will simply relegate you to being a mediocre person at best and, more likely, a person of below-average competence.

The intent of this myth is to lower the bar as to what is acceptable as average. By lowering the standards and increasing the acceptance of being average, the myth of balance quells free-thinking and ambition and relegates people to the status of mere drone workers.
